The Common Trends Among Magazines Of All Genres

The genes for magazines are many, they can range from: sports,music,food and beauty to daily news and economics.
A few common features between all of these genres are:

• Most of them have a house style.
• The left third is more cramped.(The left Third of the cover is vital for sales in shops where the magazine is not shown full frontage. The title must be easily recognizable among the competitors. Which is why it is important for the main articles to be displayed here along with the beginning of the masthead ).
• Many use bright colours.(to attract the attention of readers).
• There is almost always one dominant picture that covers the centre third.(the picture is mostly of someone/something famous or popular).
• Articles that might appeal more to the readers use a bigger font than others on the cover page.
• There's always a mast,bar-code and dateline.
• Many of the celebrities or models look directly at the camera.
• The celebrites or models(mostly female) are sexualized.(Show alot of skin).
